Bestuurders werden in Utrecht in 2021 318.020 keer beboet voor te hard rijden. Dat blijkt uit een analyse van verzekeraar Independer op basis van gegevens van het Centraal Justitieel Incassobureau (CJIB). Utrecht staat hiermee op de vierde plek van alle Nederlandse gemeenten.
